Small Hall Improvements

Hall facilities become fully accessible with grant aid

Tickton Village Hall Trustees are pleased to report that the major improvements to the Small Hall facilities are now complete, thanks to financial support from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development: Europe investing in rural areas, administered by the LEADER Programme, along with the NORSE Community Fund, and general fund-raising by the village hall’s friends and supporters, including all the annual pantomimes.

The £35,000 make-over took place over the 2018-19 Winter & Christmas period and is part of an ongoing programme of improvements to this 70 year old building.

A successful grant application to the LEADER programme achieved £23,532 towards the project;  an application to the NORSE Community fund achieved £750.    A massive thank you to the grant funders;   and the remainder came from the village hall’s development fund.

The new facility consists of a completely accessible WC and cloakroom;  new cleaner’s room with storage;  and additional essential storage areas (note:  all community buildings need massive cupboards for storing  ” stuff ” ! )

The Small Meeting/Activities Room, complete with its new facilities, is now available to hire.
